J.W. Marriott Hotel

The renovation and conversion of the 1910 Samuel F. Carter building into a 328 room world class J.W. Marriott hotel proved to be one GT Leach’s foremost challenges. During the 2 year construction schedule GT Leach was able to overcome the relentless discovery of problem areas in the building. Each floor had its own set of plans for build back, therefor complicating what might have been 22 standard floors into 22 individual floors and hotel rooms. A completely new mechanical, electrical and plumbing backbone was required to bring the building into compliance with current building codes and life safety requirements. In addition to the room tower the hotel includes a 4 star Restaurant, various public spaces and a complete in-house laundry plant.
